Nottingham Comedy Festival 2010 and The Comedy Store Players (May 06, 2010)
Nottingham Comedy Festival
2010:
The Comedy Store Players

It’s finally time to announce the official dates of this year’s
festival. Nottingham will be tickling your funny bones from the 24th September - 4th October, so be sure to put it in your diary, mark it on your
calendar or shave it into the side of the cat.
We can also reveal that the Comedy
Store Players will be performing as part of the festival, for one night
only, on Monday 4th October at Nottingham Playhouse.
Established in 1985 at London’s world famous Comedy Store, the
Players improvise their entire show based on your suggestions. They have no
script, no safety net and no idea of what’s going to happen. Expect a night of
spontaneity, absurdity, off-the-cuff musicals and expertly-crafted mayhem from
the best in the improv business.
“Some of the finest improvisers in the world.”
Eddie Izzard
“A bottomless supply of surreal sketches, dramatic vignettes and
almost tuneful operettas... A must for anyone with a pulse and a sense of
humour!”
www.bbc.co.uk
“The troupe more than lives up to its hallowed reputation... The
livewire skill underpinning all that wanton spontaneity quite takes your breath
away.”
Dominic Cavendish, Daily
Telegraph

Several of the Players have also appeared on Channel 4’s hit
programme, ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and, more recently, Josie Lawrence
pounded the pavements of Albert Square as Eastender’s Manda Best.
Tickets cost just £18, and are on sale now. You can find out
more about the Comedy Store Players on their website: www.comedystoreplayers.com.
