Three Weeks to Go (September 03, 2010)
THREE WEEKS
The festival is coming up very very fast now so promotion is in full swing. We have recently been in the Nottingham Evening Post and the Metro. We have also become a Media Partner with Trent FM so expect some exclusive competitions on there soon.
Tickets for ALL shows are now available, the best way to avoid disappointment is to book NOW. Don't miss out on your chance to see some fantastic shows.
There are a few very special shows at the festival this year. The first being a documentary about Jim Sweeney (Whose Line Is It Anyway, Comedy Store Players) 'The Sweeney' - This film is about the life and works of Jim and how he's turned his MS into a positive force in his journey. All the money raised from this screening will be going to the MSRC charity. This is a fantastic charity, so not only will you be able to watch a film about a hugely inspirational man you'll be able to donate some money to a very good cause.
And then after you've seen the film you can go and see some of Jim's friends perform at the Nottingham Playhouse the next day in the Comedy Store Players.
Another fantastic show to watch out for is HR'd Day's Night. This is a brand new comedy play writen by James 'Lloydie' Lloyd (MissImp) written especially for the Nottingham Comedy Festival. This is an exclusive play just for us so we are putting it on twice - Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th.
There are many more shows/workshops going on (53 extra, actually) take a look at the calendar, plan your week and enjoy.
If you can't wait until the 24th September then don't worry we are holding a NCF Comedy Night on Monday 6th September. Tickets are only £5 (door) or £4 (in advance/concessions). Headlining is the wonderful Tony Cowards. There is also the next round of the 'Brand New to Comedy' competition, where three non-comedians get the chance to go on stage for three minutes and have a go at stand up. If you are interested in taking part (there is beer as a prize) then just contact us at info@nottscomedyfestival.co.uk
